North West cops searching for baby who went missing while mom went grocery shopping


Brits police have urged the area people to assist with the fast recovery of the kidnapped six-weeks old baby.

The police pleaded with the area people to return forward with information which will expose the whereabouts of the innocent little baby.

According to Maria Nkabinde, police spokesperson, the baby was taken by a lady known only as Kedibone, who was said to measure in Phase 3, Oukasie.

This unfortunate incident, occurred at about 16:40 during a local plaza .

Maria further said:

“It is alleged that the mother, Suzan Kutumela, 19, was carrying her baby within the company of a male friend, also from Oukasie, once they met the suspect at the Brits Post Office. [The mother] then decided to accompany the suspect, who was also carrying a baby on her back, to the cabstand , leaving the male friend behind.

“The two women visited take out at the Shoprite Centre in Murray Avenue. [Kutumela] allegedly left her baby with the suspect to travel inside the shop. Upon her return, the suspect was nowhere to be found with the 2 babies.”

The police spokesperson said the suspect was wearing a brown jacket and a pink towel was wont to support one among the babies on her back.
